Final Portraits Project - Vulnerability

Portraits Project

Don’t Suffocate Me With My Flowers

The concept:

For this portrait I was inspired by the way the photographers I studied showed vulnerability, sexuality and innocence so, I took those and wanted to capture vulnerability of my subject through using real flowers and the neon lights as a metaphor of the subject being taken over by her own vulnerability within that space.
The flowers represent sexuality and discovery whilst she is still making herself vulnerable.

Test Shots:

The rough takes:

The photograph in the beginning was inspired by Rene Magritte's painting of the lover's but, it didn't work out with my concept and what I wanted to capture although I want to try something in ode to Rene.

(The Lovers 1, 1928 by Rene Magritte)

The one's I would've picked but didn't:

^^
The photograph above was the photo that frustrated me the most during shooting because it was absolutely perfect apart from being half in focus when I double checked during getting this shot, but I still find it beautiful although it semi focused on the subject.

The photographer's whom inspired these portraits:
