Experimental Audio and Research

Image
For the inspiration of my experimental audio, I choose a sudden gust of wind because I used to listen to a lot of ambient music and it reminded me of that as I want to explore that field of sound art.

Portraits Idea and Research

Image
For my 6 images I'm going to create self portraits inspired by photo booth photos, but in inspiration of Nadia Lee Cohen's self portraits  where she portrayed different characters in multiple photos. However, with my self portraits I'm going to try and capture myself through different moments such as smoking, doing makeup, watching something, having a friend round and other things that are very self orientated to capture being with myself, alone. I also got inspiration from the photographer who shot people who got done for crimes out of their windows, but I can't remember their name. For this project, I'm aiming to capture myself in my most vulnerable states of self which always happen in my own small little dorm room, but I don't want to shoot it in my actual bedroom because I want the perspective of someone watching in on my own states of mind. My inspiration: Second idea: For my second idea, I thought I would completely change my first conc...

Short Film Idea

Recently, I came up with an idea for a short film due to an experience that reminded me that I thought about before I came to university but, I will probably create it during second year. I've already planned on starting the script, angles and inspiration for the film. The film will be based in Farnham, and some parts will be portrayed in a house that is the symbolism of my house from back home. This film will include a huge amount of characters due the context of the story I want to tell. The film is about a girl who has been traumatised by things in her life before making the decision to leave to university and it carries on haunting her through her life which is basically ptsd, but she still goes with the fact because she isn't diagnosed for any mental health she lets it affect her whole life before, and after university.

Experimental Video Idea

For m experimental video, I had this random out of the blue idea that was kind of in inspiration to Trainspotting and Black Mirror but also relating to how I'm trying to express how I'm feeling currently with the use of time, and what it means. The general idea is that I have a female character in a minimal location surrounded by many clocks because she's sick of the repetition in daily life and having to always check the time when she feels like there are more important things to think or worry about in her life but she is still constantly checking the time just like we all do and the message behind it is that sometimes we take time for granted, and we don't use it to our advantage when we need it and have it in the back of our heads. For this idea, I'm going to use Evie as my character representation and I'm also going to hunt charity shops and see how many standing alarm clocks I can find but, hopefully that will go successfully and I can hopefully find m...

Trainspotting + T2 Review and Thoughts

Image
So, I recently watched Trainspotting and the sequel due to my curiosity of what I heard about the first Trainspotting and believed the hype because it was definitely worth the time I spent studying both films. Trainspotting is based off a novel by Irvine Welsh whom is a Scottish novelist that wrote novels about the Edinburgh drug scene and what it felt to be a part of that. The film is created with a bunch of freeze frames, nostalgia and raw emotions to every character in the film. The characters in the film are extremely addicted to heroin in their young adult lives and the way the narrative was created for the first film, it takes you on a ride as an effect of their life with drugs and abuse of heroin. The film was heavily inspired by music, and music covers such as The Beatles walking across the zebra crossing at Abbey Road and the back of one of the albums. The film itself is one that you cannot miss on not watching, and it gives you tons of life lessons that as the audience we...
